Lamp Coding part 1

Some images and videos of what I’ve got so far.

I started with some moving particles

The magic however started happening when I added some symmetry, made them bounce off the edges and return to the middle

Next I wanted something calmer, mode low-key so I tried a slowly moving grid

Next, the two books I had last read on maths lead me to try out some cellular automaton – first the Classic then I tried it out a hexagonal automaton. The hexagonal does not have as interesting behaviour as the game of life but it does make some pretty nice patterns that are always different but nicely fit the symmetry of the lamp, so I adopted this too.
I’m seeding it with different rules and different starting conditions so it doesnt get too boring
